Meet the Performers
2010 Electric Youth, Catherine ~ Age 17
When I was seven years old, I found FSPA through the SummerStage program. I started taking dance when I was nine, and during spring concert one year, I saw all the “big kids” in black & white costumes perform. I loved Electric Youth and knew I had to someday be a member. Being in Electric Youth gives me the opportunity to do what I love the most, be a member of a special family, sing and dance, and it has really taught me how important music can be in helping people. During my first European tour in 2007, we did a benefit concert in Obergrafendorf, Austria to support Leukemia research. Electric Youth’s former bus driver, Karl, had recently passed away from Leukemia and his family held a fundraiser in his honor. It was just amazing how many people came together in support of Karl and it showed me how important music can be in bringing out the best in people. Music truly is the Universal Language. Going on tour is a surreal experience, truly indescribable! Everyone creates an intense bonding experience and improves as perormers together. I love performing the Footloose medley because it’s our second act opener and has so much energy. My plans for the future are to continue with the performing arts while attending law school.
