Meet the Performers

2010 Electric Youth, Jacquie ~ Age 18

2009
When I was little, I loved the musical Annie and Grease. I loved to sing and dance all the time. I started Tap Dancing when I was in the first grade and have been dancing ever since. I learned about FSPA when I auditioned for their company musical “The Sound of Music”. I love FSPA and the fact that I can see my friends all the time who share a common interest with me.
The first time I saw Electric Youth perform in concert, you could tell they were having such a good time! Now as a member, I can understand why. Being in Electric Youth allows you to see how “hard work” can pay off. I love using my talents for the enjoyment of others, while at the same time, having a blast. It’s incredible to see the growth from the first time we first work on a song, to when we actually perform it on stage. The progress is amazing. My time in Electric Youth has given me memories to last a lifetime. One of the best was our last night on tour. When I was little, my mom and I had this ritual every night before I went to bed. We would sing Somewhere over the Rainbow together, and right before the last show on Lake Como, a brilliant rainbow came across the sky. It was soooo amazing! I also absolutely loved Austria. The scenery was incredible, especially our visit to a Chocolate Factory. Our tour guide, Karl Heinz, was so nice and knew everything you could possibly know about Austria. He was a great teacher and taught me things that I’ll remember for the rest of my life. You can’t imagine the bonding that occurs while on the bus rides, at dinners, and in the hotel rooms, where an occasional dance party may break out at 2:00 in the morning. My favorite performance venue on tour was at the Italian Embassy in Vienna. It was a beautiful garden party to celebrate the launch of a new Italian sports car. We got to wear our dressy costumes all night, and the food was yummy. I love performing the Across the Universe medley from The Beatles, especially the part in “Hey Jude” when we are all holding hands, facing towards each other and smiling. It’s just such an awesome moment.  I really do miss the Gelato in Italy!
