At the age of three, I begged by Mom to sign me up for ballet class, but it wasn’t because I was interested in dancing, it was because I wanted the beautiful recital costume! Going into my first dance class, I didn’t know what to expect, but immediately I fell in love. I simply loved to dance, so I continued to add more classes in different disciplines and participated in a competitive dance team. After 7 years, I knew I wanted something more and I came to FSPA. FSPA offered me everything and more! I love the people at FSPA and the teachers are all so caring want to help everyone succeed. Sometimes the teachers seem more like friends to me, but the students are equally as wonderful. I love being able to share the same hopes, dreams and interests as so many people at FSPA.

When I was in the 4th grade, I auditioned for “Future Shock” and was able to perform with Electric Youth at their gala. It felt absolutely incredible to be performing with people who inspired and amazed me. Everything from the funky black and white costumes to the diverse repertoire of songs they sing. I knew I had to be part of Electric Youth one day… and that day has finally come! It is even more amazing than I thought it would be. However, Electric Youth is a new level of performing for me. Memorizing more than 60 songs and dances will definitely be a challenge, as well as performing 90 minute shows. I have always dreamed of going to Europe, but I never expected to do so with Electric Youth in the 9th grade. I can’t wait to be exposed to new cultures. Being away from my family for 3 weeks will be hard and I will miss my family supporting me. I guess that makes me a little nervous too!
