Jeff Hoyer holds a B.S. in Music Education from Missouri State University and has studied jazz and composition extensively with internationally renowned jazz trombonist and composer Hall Crook. His unique background includes numerous performances with star acts including Wayne Newton, Dianne Schuur, The Temptations, Marvin Hamlisch & Lee Greenwood, as well as sideman stints with The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Bobby Vinton, and singer/entertainer John Davidson. In addition to regularly entertaining in the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World and a variety of cruise ship bands across the Caribbean, he also served eight years in the United States Air Force Band. Since his arrival in the Boston, MA area in the fall of 1996, he has become one of the top commercial and jazz trombonists in New England. When not freelancing in various jazz situations and pop/rock horn bands, Jeff can be found in many pit orchestras of touring Broadway shows in the downtown Boston theatres, and in local productions on the North Shore.
